REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS

This Policy sets out cancellations and refunds for (A) plans, (B) event tickets and (C) studio and space rentals and exchanges on ArtBaan, and (D) how hosts are paid. It is part of our Terms. If a listing or a message says something different, this Policy applies. How payments work When you pay for a ticket or a rental, you pay ArtBaan, which collects the payment on the host's behalf. Your payment to ArtBaan settles what you owe the host. We hold it and pay the host later (see D). Prices are charged in the listing's currency, and every fee is shown with the total before you pay. Tickets and rentals for a set date or period are leisure and accommodation services, for which the 14-day right of withdrawal for online purchases does not apply. The rules below apply instead. A. Plans A1. Cancelling You can cancel your plan at any time in Account → Plan. You keep your plan until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again. A2. Free trials Some plans start with a free trial. Cancel before it ends and you pay nothing; otherwise the plan starts and is charged automatically. Free trials are for new subscribers only. A3. Refunds Periods that have started, monthly or yearly, are not refunded. A4. Changing plan Moving to a higher plan applies straight away, with credit for the unused part of your current plan. Moving to a lower plan or a shorter billing period applies at the end of the current period, unless it is also a move to a higher plan. B. Event tickets B1. Cancelling your ticket - Each event shows its refund rule before you buy: a full refund if you cancel more than 1, 3, 7 or 30 days before it starts, or no refunds. - The rule shown when you bought your ticket applies. - Sessions of a series bought together are cancelled and refunded one by one, each under its own rule. - The time of cancellation recorded by ArtBaan counts. B2. If the event is cancelled or changed - If the host or ArtBaan cancels the event, you get a full refund. - If the host changes the date, time or place after you booked, you can cancel for a full refund until the event starts. - In these cases the host covers the payment processing cost of the refunds, taken from their next payouts, unless ArtBaan waives it. B3. Service fee A refunded ticket is refunded with its service fee. B4. Not refunded Not attending, arriving late, leaving early or being disappointed with an event are not grounds for a refund, unless the law says otherwise. B5. Free events Free places involve no payment. Repeatedly cancelling at the last minute may limit your ability to join events. C. Studio and space rentals C1. Cancelling your booking Each studio shows its cancellation policy before you book; the policy shown when you booked applies. - Flexible: full refund up to 1 day before the first day of your booking. - Moderate: full refund up to 5 days before; 50% until the stay starts. - Strict: full refund up to 14 days before; 50% up to 7 days before. - Whatever the policy, cancelling within 24 hours of booking gives a full refund, if you booked at least 7 days before the first day. - Bookings made before these policies existed: full refund up to 7 days before. Days are counted to the start of the first day of your booking. A booking with several periods is one booking: deadlines count from its first day, and it is cancelled as a whole. Once your stay has started, nothing is refunded for unused days, and a no-show is not refunded. The time of cancellation recorded by ArtBaan counts. C2. Service fee The service fee is refunded in the same proportion as the booking: all of it on a full refund, half on a 50% refund. C3. If something is wrong when you arrive If the space is substantially different from its listing or you can't get in, tell the host and support@artbaan.com within 24 hours of the start of your booking. We'll look into it and may, at our discretion, cancel the booking and refund you in full or in part. Reports made later may not be possible to act on. C4. If the host cancels - Hosts can cancel until the stay starts. After that, problems during a stay go to support@artbaan.com, and ArtBaan decides any refund. - The guest always gets a full refund, service fee included. - Hosts are expected to keep their calendars up to date and honour confirmed bookings. A host who cancels owes a cancellation fee, shown before they confirm and taken from their next payouts: the payment processing cost, plus 10% of their share of the booking from 30 days to 48 hours before the start, or 25% within 48 hours. - One cancellation in any 6 months costs only the processing cost. - ArtBaan may waive the fee for genuine emergencies, such as illness, damage to the space, extreme weather or an official order. We may ask for evidence. - Cancelled dates are blocked on the host's calendar. Repeated cancellations may be shown to people asking that host for a booking, and may lead to the listing or account being limited or removed. C5. If ArtBaan cancels If ArtBaan cancels a booking for safety, legal or operational reasons, the guest gets a full refund. C6. Exchanges - Exchanges involve no payment through ArtBaan and are not covered by the refund rules above. - Exchanges rely on the good faith of the people involved. To the extent the law allows, ArtBaan is not responsible for losses if an exchange doesn't go ahead as planned. - Either side can cancel a confirmed exchange. Repeated cancellations at short notice may be shown to people asking that member for an exchange, and may limit their exchange requests or account. - Exchanges arranged outside ArtBaan are not covered by this Policy. D. How hosts are paid D1. When - Rentals: usually about 24 hours after the start of the first booked day. Long stays may be paid in instalments. - Event tickets: usually about 2 days after the event ends. After we send a payout, the time it takes to reach the host's bank depends on the payment provider and the bank. D2. How much The price paid by the guest, minus ArtBaan's fee and any service fee. Hosts see what they'll receive before they publish, and the rates are on the plans page. D3. Holds, refunds and recovery - A refund made before a payout reduces or cancels it. - If a refund, a chargeback or a fee concerns a host's listing after the host has been paid, ArtBaan may deduct it from that host's future payouts or recover it from their payout account. - ArtBaan may hold a payout while a payment is disputed, while we check a report or suspected fraud, or until required host information is complete. E. How refunds are paid Refunds go back to the original payment method, in the currency paid, usually within 5 to 10 business days depending on the payment provider and your bank. Exchange-rate differences may apply. F. Goodwill In exceptional cases, ArtBaan may offer a refund, a partial refund or credit beyond this Policy, at its discretion. Doing so once doesn't create an obligation to do so again. Nothing in this Policy limits rights you have by law. G. Changes We may update this Policy. Cancellations of a booking follow the version in force when the booking was made. Questions: support@artbaan.com. Last updated 19 October 2026
