Description
Join artists Asli Hatipoglu, Alaa Abu Asad and Uno Fujisawa for Knots, Weeds & Roots, the 17th Neo Futurist Dinner at Mediamatic Biotoop in Amsterdam. Taking the lifecycle of the Japanese knotweed, an invasive plant, as their starting point, the three artist-chefs invite you on a seven-course culinary journey through personal stories of migration, adaptation and coexistence, told through plants whose histories echo their own. In this participatory dinner, you'll be guided through the Mediamatic building along the life cycle of the knotweed, from root to flower and back again, with each course marking a different stage in the plant's life. Along the way, the evening asks what we can learn from plants, how our struggles might resemble theirs, and how different species and people might live together.
